Yarrow Flower (Achillea millefolium) — Bulk Dried Herb
Yarrow Flower (Achillea millefolium)
Yarrow is one of the oldest and most universally used botanicals in human history — a feathery, aromatic perennial whose flat-topped clusters of tiny white to pale pink flowers have been gathered by healers, warriors, and herbalists across virtually every culture that has encountered it. Named for the Greek hero Achilles, who was said to have used it to staunch the wounds of his soldiers at Troy, Yarrow has been found in Neanderthal burial sites dating back 60,000 years, making it one of the earliest documented botanical preparations in human history.
Our Yarrow is certified organic, cut and sifted from the aerial parts harvested at peak flowering.

About the Plant
Native to temperate regions of the Northern Hemisphere across Europe, Asia, and North America, Achillea millefolium is a perennial herb that grows to about 90 cm in height, producing finely divided, feathery leaves (hence millefolium — “thousand leaves”) and flat-topped clusters (corymbs) of tiny daisy-like flower heads in white, cream, or pale pink. The plant is extraordinarily adaptable, growing in meadows, roadsides, lawns, and disturbed soils across the temperate world. It is one of the most widely distributed plants on earth and has been used in botanical traditions on every inhabited continent. Yarrow pollen has been found in Neanderthal burial sites in Shanidar Cave, Iraq, suggesting its use as a botanical preparation predates modern humans.
Traditional Context
Yarrow has been documented in botanical traditions across the ancient world. It appears in ancient Chinese texts, where it was used in I Ching divination, in the writings of Dioscorides and Pliny, in Anglo-Saxon herbals, and in the botanical traditions of numerous Native American nations. It was used by soldiers across many cultures to treat battlefield wounds — earning it names like “Soldier’s Woundwort” and “Herba Militaris.” It remains one of the most widely used botanicals in contemporary Western herbalism.
